As a rule, the wealthier countries have the highest rates (not in all cases), whereas the poorest countries and countries that produce and export oil have significantly lower prices. An exception is the US, an economically advanced country with low gas prices.
All countries have the same access to oil prices in international markets, but different taxes are imposed. As a result, gasoline prices are different. In some cases, as in Venezuela, the government subsidizes gas prices and thus people pay almost nothing.
